Selecting the right ADA consultant is an important process. Not all ADA consultants evaluate facilities, programs and services with the same detail. Please remember that NO consultant can "guaranty" or "certify" ADA compliance. The only entities that can truly determine ADA compliance are the Courts and those Federal Agencies assigned to enforce the ADA. In selecting the ADA consultant that best suits your needs, we recommend using the following guidelines:

• Check references of past clients served. Did the consultant finish their projects when they said they would? Are past clients happy with the services provided? Was the consultant a good communicator during and after the project was completed?
• Ask for samples of completed reports and compare with other consulting firms you are considering. Are the reports user friendly and have only pertinent information? Be sure to check the detail of those reports – make sure specific barriers are identified instead of using general terms.
